Clyde & Co Adds Second Partner to Middle East Employment & Incentives Practice

Clyde & Co is delighted to welcome Rebecca Ford as a partner in the firm’s employment and incentives group in the Middle East. Rebecca joins partner Sara Khoja to form the only two partner practice in the region.

Rebecca was previously a partner at the regional firm of Al Tamimi & Company, and was with the firm for four years. Prior to her move to the Middle East, Rebecca spent six years in the employment department of Olswang, London, and subsequently was head of the employment team within the legal department of a financial institution, the BGC International and Cantor Fitzgerald group of companies, based in London.

Jonathan Silver, head of Clyde & Co’s regional practice said of Rebecca’s appointment: “Rebecca’s arrival means that we have a unique service offering to clients in a growing area of law. Clyde & Co is the only two-partner employment practice in the region”.

Rebecca advises on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, and her experience complements the existing employment team in the Middle East. Rebecca advises major blue chip, multinational and semi governmental companies and has a particular focus on the financial sector. Rebecca has worked on a number of high profile employment litigation cases, in the UK and more recently in the DIFC.

Rebecca commented: “I am very much looking forward to working alongside Sara Khoja and the existing Clyde & Co team to build upon the current client offering and to draw upon the firm’s international reach”.

Clyde & Co is one of the few firms in the Middle East which has a dedicated specialist employment and incentives group, consisting of both English and Arabic speaking lawyers. The team operates on a regional basis and works closely with other practice areas to provide clients with a full service both in the Middle East and internationally. Rebecca’s appointment marks wider expansion of the team, which will consist of nine lawyers by September 2012.

The employment and incentives team in the Middle East has intimate knowledge of regional Middle East employment laws, UK and European employment laws, as well as international employment issues, in a variety of sectors, with a focus on: construction, shipping, aviation, financial services, hospitality, retail, technology, media and telecommunications, professional services and insurance.
