Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Natural Resources Department Lands Veteran Ronda Sandquist

Ronda Sandquist, a well known environmental and natural resources attorney, has joined Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck as a shareholder and will bolster its nationally recognized Natural Resources Department.

Sandquist represents municipal entities and land development companies on approvals for complex projects and regulatory compliance. She counsels owners and developers of major projects on environmental and natural resource permitting and regulatory compliance – the scope, magnitude and complexity of which often trigger federal environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Sandquist applies extensive knowledge of environmental frameworks and alternative compliance strategies throughout the project approval process.

Sandquist’s clients span the western U.S. and include the City of Aurora, Parker Water & Sanitation District, Lafarge West, Inc., the Colorado Mining Association and several of its member companies, and Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ronda to our nationally recognized natural resources team,” said Bruce James, managing partner at Brownstein. “Ronda had several opportunities and we are excited she chose Brownstein to support and continue to expand her environmental law, natural resource permitting and regulatory compliance practice.”

During her distinguished career, Sandquist has assisted clients with regulatory hurdles as they extract, develop and market resources, such as coal, oil, natural gas, coalbed methane, metals and aggregates, and develop alternative energy, water storage and real estate projects. In addition she guides clients through the issuance of the necessary permits for construction and operation of the projects, including permits for water, water quality, wetlands, endangered species, air quality and storage and use of hazardous materials.
