Perkins Coie’s Dallas Office Adds Five Attorneys

Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Kelly D. Hine and I. Bobby Majumder have joined the firm’s Dallas office as Partners. In addition, three associates have also joined the firm’s Dallas office.

Hine was most recently a partner at Fish & Richardson PC. His practice emphasizes litigation involving trade secrets, commercial contracts, commercial torts, non-disclosure/non-competition agreements, trademarks, copyrights, antitrust, and appellate proceedings. He has litigated complex, multi-party actions throughout the United States on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition, his practice involves counseling and litigation of substantial insurance coverage matters, particularly matters involving coverage of intellectual property related claims.

Majumder was most recently a partner at K& L Gates LLP. His practice focuses on corporate and securities transactions in variety of industry sectors, primarily in energy (oil & gas and coal) and mining; healthcare; and information technology. He represents underwriters, placement agents and issuers in both public and private offerings in the United States and international capital markets, advises on mergers and acquisitions (both cross-border and domestic), and represents private equity funds, hedge funds and venture capital funds in connection with both their formation and their investments.

Hine earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law, where he was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar, a member of Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers, and Articles Editor for SMU Law Review; and received his BS in Economics from Southern Methodist University. After law school, Hine served as law clerk to the Honorable A. Joe Fish in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He has been recognized repeatedly as one of the top young lawyers in Texas, being named a “Texas Rising Star” each year from 2007‐2011 by SuperLawyers. He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and was recently elected a Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation.

Majumder earned his J.D from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.A. from Trinity University. He has been named as “Who’s Who in Energy” by Dallas Business Journal, Houston Business Journal and Pittsburgh Business Journal, 2011 – 2012. Additionally, he was recognized as a Texas Rising Star by SuperLawyers and was named one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine. Majumder is a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Dallas Chapter and has been a Member of the Planning Committee for the University of Texas Securities Regulation and Business Law Conference since 2010.
