Phelps Dunbar Expands Texas Footprint, Opens New Dallas/Fort Worth Office

Phelps Dunbar LLP announces the opening of a new firm office in Dallas/Fort Worth, established with six attorneys formerly of long-standing Texas firm Cantey Hanger LLP.   This is Phelps Dunbar’s second location in Texas after Houston and 11th office overall.

Joining Phelps Dunbar’s Dallas/Fort Worth team are C. Matthew Terrell, who will serve as office managing partner, Blake A. BaileyD. Mark DanielRobert M. Doby III,  Alan C. Duncan and Christopher R. Jones as well as four professional staff members.  All attorneys have close ties to the Dallas and Fort Worth legal and business communities.

Mr. Terrell practices in commercial litigation with specialized expertise in the areas of property rights, eminent domain and real estate disputes, including real estate transactional matters.  He also practices appellate law. Mr. Daniel comes to Phelps Dunbar with more than 25 years of legal experience and concentrates on commercial litigation with a special emphasis on complex property damage and casualty matters. Mr. Bailey also brings more than 25 years of experience and practices in commercial litigation, particularly trademark matters as well as antitrust, franchise and employment disputes. Mr. Doby practices in the realms of commercial litigation with expertise in eminent domain and property rights matters.

Mr. Duncan brings a tax and transactional practice to the Dallas/Fort Worth office, focusing on commercial and real estate transactions, as well as tax planning and trusts and estates. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Jones has practiced law since 2009 in the areas of eminent domain and property damage litigation as well as general corporate transactions.

The attorneys also have a deep commitment to community service efforts in Dallas and Fort Worth.  Mr. Daniel serves as a member of the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate and Mr. Doby is a member of the Board of Governors and an officer at the Colonial Country Club as well as Tournament Committee member for the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial which benefits several charities in Tarrant County, including Cook Children’s Hospital.
