Thomas Hayes Joins Gordon & Rees as Partner in Chicago Office

Thomas J. Hayes has joined Gordon & Rees as a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. He is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group.

Thomas concentrates his practice in handling a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters for both individuals and business entities of all sizes ranging from Fortune 100 companies to family-owned businesses. During his career, Thomas has litigated numerous cases involving shareholder disputes, business torts, real estate litigation, probate and estate litigation, product liability, breach of contract, construction disputes, and injunctions. Additionally, he routinely defends nationwide and state class claims arising under consumer protection statutes, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Thomas has taken more than 10 cases to verdict and has participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations. He has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyer Magazine as a “Rising Star”, a recognition reserved solely for lawyers under the age of 40 who have been in practice for 10 years or less; this distinction is given to approximately 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.

Thomas received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, and is a member of the Cook County Bar Association, the West Suburban Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Fenwick High School Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts located in Illinois. In his free time, Thomas serves his local community as a 6th grade basketball coach for Divine Providence Catholic School in Westchester, Illinois, and as a board member for Westchester Baseball, Inc., a local organization that supports local youths with an interest in baseball.
