Polsinelli Welcomes New Financial Services Shareholder Seth Aigner to Chicago Office

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes new Shareholder Seth M. Aigner as a member of the firm’s national Capital Markets and Commercial Lending Practice. He will practice from the firm’s Chicago office. Aigner joins the firm from Honigman LLP.

Aigner brings nearly 20 years of experience to his practice focused on counseling senior secured lenders and borrowers in connection with leveraged buy-out transactions, recapitalizations, restructurings and workouts of distressed credits. He also represents junior lenders and borrowers in a range of commercial loan and private debt transactions.

“Seth is an outstanding finance attorney with very broad experience representing lenders and borrowers in commercial lending and private debt transactions, which will greatly benefit our growing team,” said Polsinelli Real Estate and Financial Services Department Chair Kraig M. Kohring. “As we continue to build out an exceptional commercial lending and private equity finance practice team, we are very pleased to have Seth join us, bringing his leadership and sophisticated finance experience, in our dynamic and growing Chicago office.”

“We are pleased to add Seth to our team in Chicago,” said Chicago Office Managing Partner Mary Clare Bonaccorsi. “Our focus here, and throughout the firm, is on serving clients with depth and breadth, so adding his experience to our already strong group of financial services attorneys is a great way to enhance our capacity to service commercial borrowers and lenders.”

Aigner obtained a bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University before earning a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He extends his legal experience as a member of numerous bar associations, and also serves as the Director of the Aigner Foundation and Secretary and Board Member of the Illinois Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.

“I am excited to join Polsinelli. The firm’s approach to serving its clients in the commercial lending sector very much aligns with my philosophy that debt finance is never an end in and of itself, but the means by which business gets done,” said Aigner.

Aigner joins Polsinelli’s expanding Financial Services Division, which recently added Shareholders Joshua D. Dill (Real Estate Finance Practice), Cynthia M. Weiss (Capital Markets and Commercial Lending), and Jennifer L. Garrett (Real Estate Finance) this year.

Polsinelli’s Financial Services Division is recognized nationally for providing insightful and practical counsel to clients in all aspects of debt and equity financing. The firm handles a plethora of debt-related matters, including loan origination, servicing, sales and securitizations to financial restructuring, workouts, loan enforcement, and bankruptcy. The team was included in the 2021 “Best Law Firms” list by U.S. News & World Report with the highest ranking, Tier 1, in the Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law, Real Estate Law and Public Finance Law categories.
