Polsinelli Strengthens Real Estate Ranks, Adds Shareholder and Two Others

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes Donald J. Manikas, previously with Locke Lord LLP, to its Real Estate Department in Chicago.

Manikas joins the firm as a shareholder and will provide counsel to clients on real estate transactions and related matters, including commercial and residential development and financing for acquisition, development and construction projects.

“Today’s commercial real estate environment is complex and challenging, with constant change. Our clients need strategic counsel through all phases of their projects,” said Real Estate Division Chair Eric G. Greenfield. “Don is someone who is focused at all times on clients’ needs; he’s with them from start to finish.”

Manikas manages real estate transactions for a variety of corporations and companies, and has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies in matters involving acquisition, disposition, relocation, renovation and expansion projects. He also has significant experience in commercial and residential subdivisions and development and has worked extensively with developer clients on all phases of their projects, including site location, strategic planning, contract negotiation, entitlement, due diligence, choice of entity, financing, property management and disposition.

Polsinelli’s Real Estate department has been growing exponentially nationwide. In Chicago, Manikas joins two other recent hires: counsel Bryan D. Reid and associate Vernon R. Leach.

“There’s a concentration of talent at Polsinelli, and also a real focus on client service and teamwork,” Manikas said. “I’m looking forward to working with this team to serve my current clients and build new relationships.”

Manikas graduated from University of Chicago Law School, and magna cum laude from the University of Illinois.
