Partner Paul Patrow Rejoins Faegre Drinker’s Corporate Practice in Chicago

Faegre Drinker announced today that Paul Patrow has rejoined the firm as a partner in the corporate practice in Chicago. Patrow returns to the firm from Kirkland & Ellis and was formerly with Faegre Baker Daniels from 2016 to 2019.

Patrow advises clients on tax strategies during business formation and business acquisition and sale transactions. In addition, he guides clients through the tax aspects of forming and investing in private equity funds, hedge funds and joint ventures. Patrow also works with venture capital investors on the tax implications of their investments in operating companies and counsels operating companies on their funding by venture capital and angel investors.

“We are thrilled to have Paul rejoin our growing team of corporate attorneys who provide sophisticated tax advice on transactions and investments,” said co-leaders of the firm’s corporate practice Keith Radtke and Matthew Meyers. “Paul’s ability to identify and structure tax-efficient solutions greatly enhances the team’s capabilities and strengthens our offerings to clients.”

Further, Patrow works with clients on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, private equity transactions, and domestic and international joint ventures. He also serves real estate clients with real estate investment transactions, as well as the tax aspects of bankruptcy and private workouts.

“The ability to provide top-tier tax counsel to clients structuring important transactions distinguishes our corporate practice, and Paul’s experience enhances that offering,” said James Sawyer, Faegre Drinker’s Chicago office leader. “We are excited to welcome him back to our team and look forward to his many contributions to our Chicago office and beyond.”

Patrow earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Made up of corporate, securities, tax and finance attorneys, Faegre Drinker’s corporate practice is one of the largest in the nation, serving as legal adviser to clients on their most critical strategic transactions and business decisions. Attorneys in the group are leaders in middle-market M&A — collectively guiding clients through more than 750 transactions over the past three years, with a cumulative deal value of more than $100 billion — and serve as primary securities compliance and corporate governance counsel for more than 50 public companies.
