Holland & Knight Continues Growth of Real Estate Practice with Addition of Aaron O’Donnell and Abigail Flanagan in Chicago

Holland & Knight has bolstered its nationally recognized Real Estate Practice Group with the addition of Partners Aaron O’Donnell and Abigail “Abby” Flanagan in Chicago. Mr. O’Donnell was previously a partner with Polsinelli, and Ms. Flanagan was previously with Greenberg Traurig.

“We are seeking to grow our real estate practice in Chicago, and Aaron and Abby are excellent, experienced additions to our team,” said Joe Guay, Holland & Knight’s Real Estate Section leader. “Their combined knowledge and skill set, including their extensive work with real estate developers, will strengthen our presence in Chicago and nationally.”

Mr. O’Donnell represents institutional, private equity, developer and corporate clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including the acquisition, financing, joint venture structuring, development and disposition across various asset classes, including student housing, multifamily residential, healthcare, industrial, office, retail and hospitality. Mr. O’Donnell received a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame.

“Holland & Knight’s sophisticated real estate practice and reputation, as well as its nationwide platform and vision for the Chicago office, will provide both Abby and I with an excellent opportunity to grow our practices while supporting the growth of our existing clients,” said Mr. O’Donnell. “We are thrilled to be joining the firm.”

Ms. Flanagan represents purchasers and sellers of commercial properties on development projects, assemblages, and portfolio sales and acquisitions. Her borrower-side financing practice includes the representation of clients in connection with financing the acquisition of real property and the construction of improvements, as well as the refinancing of existing developments. Ms. Flanagan received a J.D. degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame.
