Benesch Welcomes Nick Secco as Chair of the Firm’s Trial Practice Group

Benesch is pleased to announce that Nicholas J. Secco has joined the firm in its Chicago office as a litigation partner and Chair of the Firm’s Trial Practice Group. Nick is nationally recognized for his experience trying complex cases for large companies throughout the country. He has represented clients in a wide array of industries in both products liability and commercial litigation at the state and federal level.

Nick was previously a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and at Greenberg Traurig LLP. The Legal 500 (2015) identified him as a leading national practitioner for Product Liability and Mass Tort Defense, calling him a “product liability trial expert”. Nick has participated in jury trials covered by The American Lawyer, National Law Journal, New York Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, and various other media outlets. Nick’s products liability experience encompasses toxic exposure, pharmaceutical, medical device, petrochemical, environmental, cancer cluster, tobacco, lead paint, and asbestos cases. A significant portion of Nick’s practice has been devoted to breach of contract cases arising out of energy and petrochemical transactions. Additionally, he has substantial experience with class actions, false advertising cases, False Claims Act cases, trade secret misappropriation claims, and disputes arising from non-competition agreements. Nick received his J.D., cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Northwestern University School of Law and his B.A. in Philosophy from Louisiana State University.
