Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP Announces Significant Addition

The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce a significant addition to its Charlotte office with the hiring of four new Partners: Robert B. Norris, John H. Northey III, June K. Allison and Trey Baker who join us from the highly regarded firm of Wishart Norris, well known for serving middle market, owner-run, privately-held companies.

With the addition of this group the firm has established the Emerging and Middle-Market Practice Group co-chaired by Robert Norris, the former General Counsel of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, and Gregory Yadley, Chair of the Middle Market and Small Business Committee of the American Bar Association. The addition of this group strengthens the firm’s commitment and focus on the middle market. The group joins Phil Chubb, an M&A attorney and founder of the Charlotte office, Thad Adams, one of the top IP lawyers in the state, Daryl Hollnagel, former General Counsel for Continental Tire, Jack Santaniello, recognized as one of the up and coming corporate lawyers in the state with particular expertise in the franchise space, Jim Culbreth, an experienced employee compensation and benefits lawyer, a practice area that is as important as ever as businesses, particularly middle market businesses, struggle with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and Warren Kean, a preeminent tax and business attorney, who recently joined the firm and is the former chair of the N.C. Bar Association’s drafting committee for, and principal author of, the new N.C. LLC Act and the Chair of the new LLC Committee of the Business Law Section of the N.C. Bar Association.
