Armstrong Teasdale Opens Boston Office, Adds Team of Attorneys

Armstrong Teasdale announces the addition of Partners John Sten and Jason Moreau, located in Boston, further bolstering the firm’s position on the East Coast. The firm has plans for further growth in the market and intends to expand to a full-service office. Boston is the fourth new market for the firm in 18 months, and rounds out the firm’s rapidly growing practice in the East, with attorneys already practicing in New York City, Philadelphia and Princeton. The duo join from the Boston office of Pierce Atwood.

“The past two years have provided us tremendous growth opportunities on the East Coast, and Boston is yet another example of our commitment to invest in the region,” said Managing Partner David Braswell. “John and Jason are admired litigators in the region, and their representations have included a number of the country’s most recognizable brands and companies. We are excited to leverage the strengths of this dynamic team and look forward to further expanding our presence in Boston.”

Sten has over 25 years of corporate, securities and white-collar criminal defense experience. He began his distinguished legal career in the SEC Division of Enforcement in Washington, D.C. At heart, Sten advises about, and successfully solves, the problems faced by his clients: regulatory, litigation-related or just day-to-day corporate issues – whatever they are or wherever in the world they occur. As such, he also serves as outside general counsel and corporate secretary to a select number of clients. Sten represents officers, directors, boards and companies in high-stakes matters involving negligence and fraud, the False Claims Act, securities, health care, public corruption and other matters at the federal, state and local levels, as well as by government regulators. He also conducts internal investigations for his clients, counsels them on remediation and corporate governance issues, and routinely handles all manner of other complex civil litigation issues.

Moreau focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on financial services, securities litigation and regulatory enforcement. An established practitioner, he has extensive experience representing companies, officers, directors, boards and individuals in government investigations, enforcement proceedings and complex commercial litigation at the federal and state levels. These matters often involve allegations of fraud, corporate misconduct, accounting improprieties, market manipulation, insider trading, and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA) and False Claims Act (FCA). Moreau’s experience also spans a variety of industries, including financial services and banking, health care and pharmaceuticals, energy, minerals and mining, firearms, restaurant/point of sale (POS) software and services, and higher education. Further, he conducts internal investigations for his clients and advises them on regulatory, compliance and risk management issues both within and outside the context of litigation.
