International law firm Dechert has brought aboard a new partner to fill one of its Asia legal jobs, according to a press release.

Paul Weidong Wang will fill the position of corporate partner. Corporate practice chair Henry Nassau praised his “caliber … and … quality”, one of several members of the firm to heap accolades on the new hire.

Beijing office head Henry Wang noted the depth that the new hire adds to the firm, stating he fills a key role in what the firm is attempting to build.

“I have known Paul for the last several years and he has a well-established private equity practice,” said Dechert managing partner Jingzhou Tao who is responsible for developing the firm’s Asia practice, which likely includes the task of legal recruiting. “Dechert’s worldwide PE capacity will be well complemented by Paul’s practice.”

Prior to joining Dechert, Wang served as a partner at DeHeng Law Offices. His credentials also include serving as an associate for Sidley Austin.
