Spencer Fane Strengthens Environmental Group with Addition of Jason Flower in St. Louis

Flower brings 20 years of experience in complex environmental and business litigation, with a focus on working with clients nationwide in the chemical and manufacturing industries. With his clients’ goals at the forefront, he helps businesses strategically approach high-profile cost recovery and contribution actions.

Flower regularly helps clients navigate complex Superfund site negotiations so they can secure cost-effective and environmentally protective remedies through coordination with technical consultants and agreements with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state agencies.

Flower also defends clients in judicial and administrative environmental enforcement actions under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).

Previously, Flower served as the Environmental Practice Group chair at an Am Law 100 firm.

Additionally, Flower represents clients in litigation involving alleged environmental contamination resulting in exposure and toxic torts claims, including personal injury and property damage lawsuits.

Flower completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served on the Washington University Law Quarterly.

Hopinks-Baul will work closely with the Environmental group and Flower on a wide range of environmental matters. She focuses her practice on environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance and litigation, focused on wastewater, stormwater, drinking water, air, waste, and health and safety matters, and assists with environmental due diligence for complex commercial transactions and contracts entailing environmental issues.
