Holland & Knight Welcomes Zubin Khambatta to Growing Healthcare Practice in Texas

Holland & Knight has strengthened its Healthcare Regulatory and Enforcement Practice Group with the addition of Zubin Khambatta as a partner in Austin. Khambatta was previously a partner with Perkins Coie.

Mr. Khambatta represents major hospital systems and hospitals, academic medical centers, specialty and pediatric physician practices, clinical laboratories and telehealth, behavioral health and digital health providers in transactional, regulatory and reimbursement matters. He regularly represents healthcare clients in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic collaborations, and venture and equity financings, including acquisitions by private equity-backed platforms, strategic acquisitions, institution-to-institution affiliation and collaboration agreements and the acquisition, sale or restructuring of hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, ambulance providers and behavioral health practices.

The addition of Mr. Khambatta follows the hiring of a trio of healthcare partners last month.

“Zubin’s wealth of knowledge and experience with healthcare transactions and regulatory matters will make him a tremendous asset to the firm,” said Brent Hill, leader of Holland & Knight’s Healthcare Section. “He has built an impressive practice in Texas, where there are unique opportunities in the healthcare and life sciences market. We look forward to working with him to continue to grow our healthcare practice in the state and across the nation.”

“Holland & Knight’s strategic growth of its healthcare practice, recent combination with Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis and its significant presence in Texas were all impressive factors that helped inform my decision,” Mr. Khambatta said. “Given the firm’s dedication to serving the healthcare industry and its emphasis on professionalism and collegiality, I am thrilled to be joining and working alongside my new colleagues.”

Mr. Khambatta received a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School, an M.Sc. degree from the University of Edinburgh and a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
