Former Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Joins Baker Botts in Austin

Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international technology, energy and life sciences law firm, announced today that Stephanie Bergeron Perdue, former Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, has joined the firm as a Litigation partner in the Environmental, Safety & Incident Response group in the Austin office. 

 Ms. Bergeron Perdue joins Baker Botts from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, where she held various management and executive positions, most recently serving as Deputy Executive Director.“The addition of Stephanie will help us deepen our impressive bench of environmental lawyers in Texas,” said Baker Botts Managing Partner John Martin. “She is highly respected in her field, with an abundance of experience dealing with key legal and policy matters.  While at TCEQ, she was instrumental in major environmental policy decisions in the state. She engaged in critical inter-governmental negotiations with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She also helped develop the Lower Brazos Watermaster program and was highly involved in multiple “Sunset Reviews” on the mission and efficacy of TCEQ.

Ms. Bergeron Perdue is a member of the American College of Environmental Lawyers. She earned her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston, and her B.A. from the University of Texas.
