Sean D. Jordan to Co-Manage Sutherland Asbill & Brennan’s Austin Appellate Practice

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan has hired Sean D. Jordan to a fill an Austin legal job in the firm’s office in the state capital, according to a press release.

Formerly the principal Deputy Solicitor General in the Office of the Attorney General of the Lone Star State, Jordan moves into a partner position and will be one of two leaders of the appellate practice of the law firm.

 

“Sean has more than 18 years of experience in complex civil litigation in both government service and private practice in Texas,” managing partner Mark D. Wasserman with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan said. “His understanding of and insight into the litigation environment in Texas, at both the trial and appellate level, will immediately benefit our clients.”

Jordan represented the State of Texas in more than 40 appeals before courts at the federal and state levels. He also spearheaded a team of appellate attorneys tasked with overseeing all federal and state court appeals managed by the attorney general’s office in Texas.

Jordan holds a law degree from the School of Law at the University of Texas.
