Polsinelli Adds Real Estate Industry Veteran to Atlanta Office

Polsinelli welcomes Mike Rodgers to its Atlanta office as a shareholder in its national Real Estate Practice. Rodgers’ practice focuses on counseling clients who develop, invest, lease, lend and use real estate assets in urban core, suburban and exurban locations.

“Mike has a great deal of experience both locally and nationally, and we’re excited that his addition will expand our real estate service offerings in Atlanta,” said Atlanta Office Managing Partner Nancy Rafuse. “We are continuing to grow in Atlanta and as a result are moving in Midtown this summer to accommodate our expanding team of attorneys.”

Rodgers brings 20 years of real estate industry experience to the firm, including drafting and negotiating complex governance structures and easement agreements for large-scale communities, urban mixed-use properties, in-fill residential developments, resorts and office and industrial parks. He also focuses on asset classes including single-family, condominiums (residential, commercial, new and conversions), multi-family, hotels and commercial office, from warehouse loft conversions to Class A towers. Rodgers works with clients on issues unique to interstate land sales, home builder programs and the promotion and sale of residential properties to customers.

“Mike is a business-minded problem solver who brings tremendous experience to our practice with his work on a variety of community real estate projects across the country,” said Real Estate Division Chair John Petersen. “We’re glad to have him on our team to help us continue to grow our real estate capabilities nationally and in Atlanta.”

Since 1998, Rodgers has supported and is actively involved in various programs of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), including serving as the current Membership Chair of its national Urban Revitalization Council, a member of the Atlanta-based Creative Development Council and serving as a mentor in ULI’s Young Leaders Group Mentoring Program. He has been a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation since 1998. Rodgers previously served in various leadership positions on the Friends Junior Committee for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and has been a member of the Board of Directors for Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity for the past two years. He was previously an Adjunct Law Professor for the University of Georgia School of Law where he taught real estate courses. Rodgers earned his law degree from Emory University School of Law after receiving a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Policy degree, with honors, from The College of William & Mary.

“I was attracted to Polsinelli’s national footprint, the firm’s recognized Real Estate Practice Group and, most importantly, the firm’s commitment to serving the real estate development industry which is not universal in many national law firms,” said Rodgers. “The talent level and entrepreneurial energy of the firm’s Real Estate attorneys across all of its offices is a great fit for both me personally, and my clients who pursue opportunities across the country. I am excited to be a part of Polsinelli and growing its Real Estate Practice Group here in Atlanta.”

Polsinelli’s Real Estate Practice serves clients nationally from offices coast to coast, with a team of experienced attorneys who have been involved in many of the largest incentivized public-private partnerships in the country. Last year, Polsinelli received a national Tier One ranking in Real Estate Law by U.S. News and World Report’s Best Law Firm and Best Lawyers in 2015.
