Investment Funds Partner Colby Jenkins Joins King & Spalding in Atlanta

King & Spalding announced today that Colby Jenkins has joined the firm as a partner in its Real Estate and Funds practice group. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office. Jenkins joins King & Spalding from Alston & Bird, where he was a partner.

Jenkins counsels clients on structuring, offering, and operating U.S. and offshore open-end, closed-end, and semi-liquid private investment funds and advises on related U.S. regulatory and compliance matters. He represents established and emerging fund sponsors and institutional, family office, and individual investors focused on a wide variety of investment sectors, ranging from traditional private equity investments to public market investments to investments in emerging alternative asset classes.

“Colby brings to our team a diverse investment funds background that grows the range of our fund formation offering and gives us greater scale across industries, sectors and geographies,” said Jennifer Morgan, co-leader of the firm’s Real Estate and Funds practice group. “Colby’s combination of impeccable legal and client-relations skills with his drive to grow and build make him an excellent addition to our practice.”

Jenkins received his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, his M.B.A from Yale University, and his B.A. from Duke University.

“King & Spalding has the deep bench and extensive global platform I need to expand how I can serve my clients’ fund formation and international compliance needs,” said Jenkins. “I’m looking forward to the opportunities for collaboration and cross-selling the firm’s platform provides and being part of the ongoing growth of this top-tier team.”
