Constangy Welcomes New Partners in New Jersey, North Carolina as Growth Continues

National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete is pleased to welcome two new partners to its Northern New Jersey and Asheville office, continuing an aggressive expansion that has brought eight new attorneys to the firm over the past month. Denner comes to Constangy from FordHarrison while Sumerell Spainhour joins from Davis Hartman Wright LLP.

Keya Denner has joined the Northern New Jersey office as a partner, bringing 18 years of experience in labor and employment litigation, with a strong focus on FMLA, ADA, and cannabis issues. While at FordHarrison, he chaired the Cannabis Law Group, helping employers navigate the ever-evolving regulatory environment related to medical and recreational cannabis and other drug testing and enforcement policies. Before joining Ford Harrison, Denner spent 14 years at Norris McLaughlin. He has been recognized as a New Leader of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal. Denner received his undergraduate degree from Boston University and his J.D. from Seton Hall University.

Missy Sumerell Spainhour has joined the Asheville office as a partner. She has more than 20 years of labor and employment law experience. In addition to a strong litigation and advice and counseling background, Spainhour is experienced in conducting workplace investigations and is a certified mediator. She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Spainhour received her undergraduate degree from Sewanee: the University of the South and her J.D. from Wake Forest University.
