Gardere Represents BP in Sale of Jonah Gas Properties in Wyoming to LINN Energy

Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP represented BP America Production Company (NYSE:BP) in its $1.03 billion sale of its interests in Jonah and Pinedale upstream operations in Southwestern Wyoming to LINN Energy, LLC (Nasdaq:LINE) announced on June 25, 2012. Included in the sale are BP’s operations center in Sublette County, Wyoming and all of its working interest in a substantial number of operated and non-operated wells that are producing natural gas, natural gas liquids, and oil. Completion of the sale remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and conditions. The acquisition is expected to close in July 2012.

White & Case Advises Jefferies on Klöckner Pentaplast Recapitalization

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Jefferies and its affiliates in connection with a recapitalization of Klöckner Pentaplast, one of the world’s largest suppliers of plastic films and the provision of approximately €630 million of new debt facilities provided by Jefferies to fund the prepayment of existing senior facilities of Klöckner Pentaplast as part of the recapitalization.

Ryan Law Hires Mark W. Eidman As Senior Partner

National law firm Ryan Law hired Mark W. Eidman for an Austin legal job, according to a press release.

Eidman joins the practice as a senior partner in the Austin office of the firm that specializes in corporate tax litigation. His experience includes hundreds of administrative appeals and court cases in more than 40 U.S. states and he now owns the biggest volume of pending tax cases in Texas, the press release states.

Winston & Strawn Adds Corporate, Intellectual Property and Employment Team Led by Brinton M. Scott to its Shanghai Office

Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Brinton M. Scott has recently joined its Shanghai office as a partner and will focus on corporate, intellectual property, and employment law matters, including those involving mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign direct investments. Scott was most recently a partner for Clyde & Co. He will be joined by two corporate associates, Jerry (Zhan) Liu and Sabrina Yang, also from Clyde.
