Latham & Watkins Advises PTT Global Chemical on US$1 Billion Inaugural Bond Offering

Latham & Watkins represented PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, Thailand’s largest integrated petrochemical and petroleum refining company, in connection with its inaugural US$1 billion bond offering. The issue comprised of 4.25% Senior Unsecured Notes due 2022, representing the largest ever single-tranche US-dollar bond offering by a Thai corporate. The bond also achieved the lowest ever coupon for a Thai 10-year fixed rate US-dollar bond.

Stamford Law Corporation and Allen & Gledhill LLP are acting as legal advisers to Fraser and Neave, Limited (“F&N”) in the S$8.8 billion proposed takeover of F&N by TCC Assets Limited (“TCC Assets”). TCC Assets announced a mandatory general offer of S$8.88 per F&N share on 13 September 2012 after its shareholding in F&N, together with its concert parties, reached approximately 30.36% of the total issued F&N shares.

Milbank Advises on Pioneering Wampu Hydroelectric Project in Indonesia

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP represented the lenders, KEXIM and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, in the US$130 million financing of a 45 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plant on the Wampu River in North Sumatra, Indonesia. The deal was the first power financing under Indonesia’s Fast Track 2 program, and could signal increased bankability for the country’s renewable reserves.
