Mayer Brown JSM today announced that Nathan Dodd has joined the firm as a partner in Singapore. Nathan has more than 13 years' experience in the Asian legal market, with a particular emphasis on the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors. His experience includes major project development transactions in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa and he will be a core member of Mayer Brown's global Projects group.

Kevin Owen, Partner-in-Charge of the Singapore office, said, "We are pleased to have Nathan join this growing team. A talented and seasoned practitioner, he will spearhead our Projects group in Singapore, with a primary focus on the power, mining and infrastructure sectors in Asia, which are the areas with great potential in this part of the world."

Mayer Brown JSM extended its reach in Asia by opening the Singapore office after it obtained a foreign law practice license in 2011.

"Nathan's experience will complement Mayer Brown's distinguished global Projects group and will deepen our capability in Asia, offering our clients more resources to capitalise on opportunities in one of the most dynamic global regions for energy and infrastructure investment," said Barry N. Machlin, partner and co-leader of Mayer Brown's global Projects group.

Nathan added, "Mayer Brown’s global leadership position in project finance and the extensive and long-standing Asian network of Mayer Brown JSM provide an excellent platform to build a first-tier projects practice here in Asia."

Nathan joins Mayer Brown JSM from Linklaters, where he worked in London from 1997 until March 1999, when he transferred to Singapore.
