Goodwin Procter Adds Executive Compensation Partner Alessandra Murata in Silicon Valley

Goodwin Procter, a leading Am Law 50 and Global 50 firm, announced today that Alessandra Murata has joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office as a partner in the ERISA & Executive Compensation Practice.

“Ali’s wide-ranging industry expertise with public and private companies in the technology, life sciences, private equity and real estate sectors aligns perfectly with Goodwin’s focus practice areas,” said Lynda Galligan, chair of the firm’s Silicon Valley office. “We are delighted that she’s joining the partnership as Goodwin’s presence in Northern California continues to expand.”

Murata also counsels clients on equity compensation arrangements for corporations and partnerships, compliance with tax rules relating to deferred compensation, tax planning with respect to the excise tax on excess parachute payments, limits on the deductibility of executive compensation and SEC rules governing executive compensation disclosure and reporting.

Murata joins Goodwin from Skadden where she was counsel. She is admitted to practice in California and New York. She earned her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, LL.M from New York University School of Law and B.S. from Cornell University. Murata is the author of numerous industry articles and was recently recognized by The Silicon Valley Business Journal as one of 2016 Women of Influence.
