Polsinelli Continues California Expansion, Adding Corporate and Transactional Practice Attorney Richard Zolezzi

Polsinelli announced today Richard V. Zolezzi, an accomplished corporate attorney, joined its San Francisco office.

In the firm’s national Corporate and Transactional practice, Zolezzi will assist in heading the firm’s corporate practice in San Francisco. Throughout his career, Zolezzi has advised private companies, investment funds and financial institutions on their corporate, M&A, finance, and technology transactions. He works extensively with international companies on their U.S. and international projects.

“Understanding my clients’ business so that I can be an effective advisor to senior management and boards of directors is a hallmark of my practice,” Zolezzi said. “I see in Polsinelli a singular focus on business-driven client service and am very excited to be part of the team.”

Zolezzi is scheduled to speak June 20 at the New Technology Venture Accelerator (NETVA) conference in Paris. The event, sponsored by the French government’s Office for Science and Technology, selects 20 young tech companies that intend to expand in the U.S. Polsinelli’s San Francisco office is expected to host some of the chosen companies later this fall.

“Richard is a well-respected, highly-experienced attorney who we are very pleased to welcome as we continue to expand our capabilities across California,” said Polsinelli’s San Francisco Office Managing Partner Chuck Thompson. “The addition of Richard to our growing team and his depth of expertise in cross-border transactions, corporate governance, leveraged finance, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and software licensing will help us better serve our international clients.”

Zolezzi is the most recent of several attorneys to join Polsinelli’s California offices this year, adding to the firm’s growth along the West Coast. The firm has approximately 800 attorneys across 20 offices coast to coast, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Silicon Valley.

For over a decade, Zolezzi served as the General Counsel of SPL WorldGroup, a global software and services company, and also acted as its Chief of Corporate Strategy and interim CEO prior to the sale of SPL to Oracle Corporation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
