Maynard Cooper Continues San Francisco Growth, Adds IP Partner Josh Van Hoven

Maynard Cooper & Gale continues to expand the knowledge and experience available to its West Coast clients with the recent addition of three new attorneys to its rapidly-growing San Francisco office. With the addition of partner Joshua Van Hoven and associates Ali Drury and Dylan Randolph, Maynard now has seven lawyers in San Francisco, representing clients in areas ranging from intellectual property protection to corporate finance and investment to insurance and financial services litigation.

Van Hoven is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology practice. Named a “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property Litigation by California Super Lawyers each of the last three years, he brings extensive experience in the area of electrical and computer-related patents, including prosecution, counseling, litigation, and post-grant practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

With the addition of Van Hoven, the firm now has three IP partners in San Francisco, including Sasha Rao and Brandon Story, representing companies like Square, Inc. and Hawaiian Telcom in patent litigation, patent prosecution, and other IP matters. Van Hoven has worked with both large and small companies to develop patent portfolios for the electrical and computer arts in the areas of wireless communications, graphics processors, medical devices, data storage systems, encryption, biometrics, hybrid vehicles, and software.

Ali Drury is an associate in the General Litigation and Insurance and Financial Services Litigation practices at Maynard Cooper. She received a J.D. from Tulane University, magna cum laude, in 2013 and a B.A. from University of California, Davis in 2009. While in law school Alexandra was an extern for Judge Bea of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Dylan Rudolph is an associate in Insurance and Financial Services and ERISA Litigation practices at Maynard Cooper. Prior to joining Maynard Cooper, he worked as a litigation associate in a mid-sized firm located in San Francisco, where he managed a heavy caseload for a Fortune 10 multi-national client. Rudolph received his J.D. from University of San Francisco Dylan is a graduate of University of San Francisco School of Law in 2011 and a B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2007.
