Business and Finance Attorney Travis Leach Joins Ballard Spahr

Travis J. Leach, a corporate and securities attorney who has represented clients in more than $3 billion in transactions, has joined Ballard Spahr as a partner in the Phoenix office, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.

Mr. Leach handles mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, corporate governance matters, and Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC compliance.

“Travis brings great experience and energy to our national M&A and securities practices,” Mr. Stewart said. “We are particularly excited to add an attorney of his caliber in the Southwest, where an already strong and growing presence will now be more formidable.”

Mr. Leach also counsels professional sports organizations, ownership groups, athletes, coaches, and entertainers in contract and licensing negotiations and a variety of other individual business ventures. He has negotiated more than $250 million in endorsement deals with Fortune 500 corporations on behalf of his sports and entertainment clients.

“Travis’s recognized skill in handling mergers and acquisitions, securities, and other transactional finance matters makes him a perfect addition to our Phoenix office and an asset to the firm and our clients,” said Robert C. Gerlach, Chair of Ballard Spahr’s Business and Finance Department. “Travis’s experience in sports and entertainment transactions adds to our already diverse business and finance practice.”

At Ballard Spahr, Mr. Leach will be a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions/Private Equity, Securities, and Transactional Finance Groups. He joins the firm from Jennings Strouss in Phoenix.

“I’m pleased to be joining a premier corporate practice that combines the scope and skill of a national firm with the regional market knowledge and client service that is so critical during the course of a transaction,” Mr. Leach said. “I look forward to working with Ballard Spahr’s talented attorneys in Phoenix and across the country.”
