Cozen O’Connor Welcomes Six More Attorneys from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney

Cozen O’Connor has announced the addition of six more attorneys from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC: employee benefit/ERISA attorneys John H. Wilson, Lynn Brehm and Matthew Clyde, labor and employment attorney Brian A. Casal, and commercial litigators William J. Moorhead and Gabrielle Lee.

Four have joined Cozen O’Connor as members, and Clyde and Lee join as associates. Wilson, Moorhead Clyde, and Lee are based in the firm’s newly launched Pittsburgh office, while Casal is based in Philadelphia and Brehm is in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Earlier this month, Cozen O’Connor announced the addition of 20 lawyers from Buchanan Ingersoll and the launch of a full-service office in Pittsburgh, which now has 12 lawyers. With Pittsburgh’s thriving technology and health care sectors, Cozen O’Connor expects to grow its office substantially in the next 12-18 months.

“These excellent additions continue our momentum in Pittsburgh and add range and depth to our Labor & Employment Department,” said Michael J. Heller, Cozen O’Connor’s President, and Chief Executive Officer. “Both are strategic priorities for the firm.”

Wilson, formerly chairman of Buchanan Ingersoll’s ERISA/Employee Benefits practice group, focuses on group employee benefits, ERISA, and deferred compensation matters. His experience covers corporate acquisitions, dispositions, and mergers; employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs); ERISA fiduciary duty and prohibited transaction matters; and matters involving the tax and ERISA concerns for employee health, life insurance, and other welfare benefit plans.

Brehm is also experienced in ERISA and employee benefit matters. She represents a wide range of employers, both for-profit and not-for-profit, in all facets of the design, implementation, administration, and ongoing compliance of qualified retirement plans, health, and welfare plans, and non-qualified executive retirement plans.

Casal represents employers in a variety of traditional labor and employment matters, including advising employers on matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Act, Pennsylvania’s Public Employees Relations Act, and federal and state equal employment opportunity laws. He handles all aspects of labor relations, including union-organizing, collective bargaining, contract administration, strikes, picketing, hand-billing, secondary activities, and other forms of labor disputes.

Clyde is an associate who focuses his practice on ERISA and employee benefit matters.

Moorhead, an experienced trial attorney whose courtroom experience includes numerous bench and jury trials in both state and federal court, focuses on professional liability defense, long term care liability, complex commercial litigation, and employment and insurance coverage.

Lee is an associate with the firm, focusing her practice on long-term care litigation.
