Roetzel’s Orlando Office Adds Two Additional Attorneys

The Orlando office of Roetzel & Andress, LPA, recently expanded with the addition of two prominent attorneys. The firm is pleased to announce that Gary M. Berkson and Raymond L. Schumann have joined the firm as partners.

Gary M. Berkson, formerly of Moran Kidd Lyons Johnson & Berkson, has been practicing law in the Orlando area since 1983. He focuses his practice on the representation of business clients ranging in size from large, national corporations to start up and emerging business ventures. He advises clients in all phases of the business life cycle including entity selection, debt and equity financing, commercial and contractual relationships, employment relationships and agreements, joint ventures and strategic alliances, succession planning and mergers and acquisitions. The types of businesses that he advises range from information technology and software firms to building construction and engineering services and insurance brokerages, among others. Mr. Berkson also serves as outside general counsel to a variety of clients. He earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester and his J.D. from Emory University School of Law.

Raymond L. Schumann, formerly of Alvarez, Sambol & Winthrop, concentrates his practice on commercial and complex real estate transactions. For over 10 years he has achieved and continues to maintain expert status as a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Attorney. With his comprehensive and extensive real estate and business expertise, he focuses primarily on matters involving real estate transactions, acquisition, restructuring and development strategies and planning. He also has significant experience in commercial real estate financing, mortgages, loan restructuring and workouts representing numerous lending institutions and entities; negotiating, closing and enforcing commercial leases and property management agreements for brokers and investors/owners, and providing title rectification and defect resolution advice, guidance and services for all those involved in the transactions. Mr. Schumann includes banking and private lending institutions and entities, private real estate investment groups, real estate brokerage firms, and title insurance agencies among his many clients. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University and his J.D. from the Paul M. Herbert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
