Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Jonathan Link has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Litigation Department. Link, an electrical engineer and former patent examiner, brings more than 18 years of intellectual property-related experience in the technology and scientific sectors, including more than a decade specializing in patent litigation.
Link’s practice focuses on complex patent litigation matters in a wide range of industries, including: computer software and business methods; electrical circuits, including semiconductors, display panels and wire bond connectors; power control circuits; electric motors and generators; electronic payments and financial services products, including credit, debit and stored value cards; and wireless communications. Link also has a substantial amount of experience handling patent matters before the International Trade Commission (ITC).
“Our IP litigation and ITC practices have grown exponentially over the past couple years, and we are pleased to add another highly skilled and well-established trial lawyer to the team,” said Max Grant, Global Co-Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. In the past two and a half years, the firm has systematically added 11 leading intellectual property litigation partners to its northern California, Washington, D.C. and New York offices.

Link joins the firm from Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois and received his law degree from George Mason University Law School. Link is a former U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Patent Examiner.
