On July 13, Eaton and Cooper issued a joint press release announcing that the waiting period for U.S. antitrust review had expired on July 12, 2012.

The transaction remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including, among others, certain foreign regulatory clearances and approval by the shareholders of both Eaton and Cooper. Washington DC-based partner Peter Thomas and attorneys Bill Kearney, Rawia Ashraf and Gillian Rice Maupin assisted Eaton in obtaining U.S. antitrust clearance.
