Simpson Thacher Represents Goldman, Sachs & Co. in $2 Billion Debt Offering by Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

The Firm represented Goldman, Sachs & Co. as the sole underwriter in the public offering of $2 billion of debt securities of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (“Berkshire”), consisting of $750,000,000 of 2.20% Senior Notes due 2016, $500,000,000 of 3.75% Senior Notes due 2021 and $750,000,000 of Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2014.

Berkshire will use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes. 
Berkshire and its subsidiaries engage in diverse business activities including property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, utilities and energy, freight rail transportation, finance, manufacturing, retailing and services. Berkshire’s common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, trading symbols BRK.A and BRK.B.
