Simpson Thacher Represents the Underwriters in $1 Billion Debt Offering by Berkshire Hathaway Finance Corporation

The Firm represented BofA Merrill Lynch, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Wells Fargo Securities in the public offering of $1 billion aggregate principal amount of debt securities of Berkshire Hathaway Finance Corporation (“BHFC”), guaranteed by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (“Berkshire”), consisting of $400 million aggregate principal amount of Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2017 and $600 million aggregate principal amount of Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2018. The offering closed on January 15, 2015.

BHFC used the net proceeds from its offering to repay at maturity its 4.850% Senior Notes due January 15, 2015.

Berkshire and its subsidiaries engage in a number of diverse business activities including property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, freight rail transportation, utilities and energy, finance, manufacturing, services and retailing. Berkshire’s common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under trading symbols BRK.A and BRK.B.
