Reed Smith Adds Niket Rele as Partner in New York

Reed Smith LLP today announced the addition of Niket Rele as a partner in its Corporate Transactional Advisory Group in New York.

Rele was formerly a partner in the Corporate Department and Information Technology and Outsourcing Group and Chair of the India Practice at Wiggins and Dana. Prior to Wiggin, Rele was with a corporate boutique firm which he co-founded in New York City. Prior to that Rele was an attorney at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and White and Case. He also practiced at Crawford Bayley & Co in Mumbai, India.

Earning an L.L.M. from American University in 1995, and an LL.B. from Bombay University in 1992, Rele represents companies in mergers and acquisitions, cross border India-US transactions, corporate finance, strategic alliances and joint ventures, technology, pharmaceutical and biotech licensing transactions, and general corporate counseling matters. He also assists clients in structuring and negotiating complex global outsourcing contracts, including representing service providers and customers in sole-sourced and competitively-bid business-process outsourcing and information technology outsourcing arrangements software licensing and technology transaction matters.

Rele’s experience extends to advising public and private companies in India and Asia with respect to their U.S. acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures and financing transactions across diverse sectors and industries. In addition, he assists U.S. and other international corporations structure their India entry strategies, investments and acquisitions in India.
