McDermott’s New York Office Continues Expansion with Arrival of Two Seasoned Transactions Lawyers

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Ivan J. Presant and Jeffrey W. Meyers have joined the Firm as partners in its growing Corporate & Transactional Practice Group in New York.

Mr. Presant joins the Firm from Greenberg Traurig where he advised clients in respect to mergers, tender offers, both negotiated and unsolicited, as well as proxy contests, stock and asset acquisitions, auctions, and dispositions and joint ventures. Mr. Presant has experience in advising domestic and international companies in an array of business combination transactions and contests for corporate control involving private and public companies.

Mr. Meyers joins from Stroock, where he served as head of the Firm’s Energy and Project Finance practice. He has worked on energy transactions all over the globe, with a particular emphasis on North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Meyers focuses on the sale and acquisition of interests in energy businesses and facilities and the development and financing of international and domestic energy ventures. He has experience in drafting and negotiating all operative documents for a wide range of energy projects. He has advised generation and transmission owners and transactional clients, including independent power producers, governments, private equity investors, infrastructure funds, strategics, equipment manufacturers and oil and gas companies.

McDermott’s New York office has seen significant growth in recent months with the hiring of several notable partners. Mr. Presant and Mr. Meyers join Ian Schwartz, Rob Goldstein, Jeremy Dickens, Daniel Martin, and Frank Steinherr as the latest additions to the Firm’s Corporate & Transactional Practice in New York.
