Leading corporate environmental lawyer Jeffrey Salinger joins DLA Piper in New York

DLA Piper announced today that Jeffrey Salinger has joined the firm’s Corporate practice in New York as a partner.

Salinger has extensive experience advising corporate clients on environmental transactional matters in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, project finance and bankruptcy, as well as real estate.

A prominent member of New York City’s environmental bar, Salinger was appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2003 as a member of the Council on the Environment of New York City and GrowNYC, and served in that capacity for 13 years. He also frequently writes and speaks on climate change risks and opportunities.

DLA Piper’s New York Managing Partner Richard Hans said, “In addition to drawing on his outstanding transactional knowledge, Jeff will be an important advisor to our clients that strive to be environmentally compliant and conscious.”

“Jeff is an ideal addition to our New York corporate group and will be particularly complementary to our middle market M&A and private equity practices,” said Christopher Giordano, chair of DLA Piper’s New York Corporate group.

Salinger was previously with Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he served as co-head of the US environmental practice. He earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
