Jones Day Welcomes Private Equity Partner Josh Berick to New York Office

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that transactions lawyer Josh Berick is joining the Firm as a partner in its Private Equity Practice. Mr. Berick will be based in Jones Day’s New York Office.

An experienced advisor to investors and private equity funds in a range of domestic and cross-border transactions, Mr. Berick has counseled clients in acquisitions and divestitures; private equity and venture capital investments; strategic alliances and joint ventures; and general corporate, securities, and commercial law matters.

“Josh’s experience, particularly in the energy, life sciences, and financial services industries, will add depth to our dynamic transactional practice in New York and beyond,” said Andrew Levine, co-head of Jones Day’s Private Equity Practice. “And as our private equity clients continue to seek opportunities outside the U.S., his breadth of international experience will play a key role in our continued growth. Mr. Berick has worked on complex multijurisdictional matters for clients in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. His recent engagements include advising BP plc on its $7 billion acquisition of oil and gas assets in Azerbaijan, Brazil, and the Gulf of Mexico from Devon Energy Corporation; assisting CPA Global with its acquisition of Innography, Inc.; and counseling McArthurGlen Europe on its $435 million European designer outlet center joint venture with Simon Property Group.
