Hogan Lovells Gains Mark Eagan to Head the Firm’s U.S. Real Estate Practice

Hogan Lovells announced today that Mark Eagan has joined the firm’s New York office as Head of Real Estate for the Americas.

Eagan, who represents investment banks, foreign and domestic banks, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, public and private REITs, and a variety of other commercial real estate institutional investors and lenders, recently represented Ivanhoe Cambridge in its acquisition with Blackstone of Stuyvesant Town in Manhattan — the largest single-asset real estate transaction in U.S. history.

“Mark has deep experience in building a highly respected real estate practice in London and the U.S., and we look forward to his leadership as we continue to expand our thriving real estate practice in New York,” said Oliver Armas, Managing Partner of the New York office. “He is well respected by his peers in the industry and we anticipate that he will be a beacon of experience in more complex aspects of real estate transactions for clients.”

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Eagan was a real estate partner at Paul Hastings and founder of the firm’s European real estate practice.

“I am delighted to welcome Mark to our global team and am looking forward to working with him,” said Jackie Newstead, Global Head of Hogan Lovells’ Real Estate Practice. “His practice fits perfectly with our existing cross border strengths.”

“Hogan Lovells’ global strength in real estate is well known and matches nicely with the needs and goals of my global clients,” said Eagan “I am looking forward both to the opportunities and the challenges ahead in strengthening and integrating our platform in the Americas.”

Eagan earned his J.D. from the New York University School of Law, and his B.A. from Boston College. He continues to be an active alum at New York University. Eagan was admitted to the New York Bar and is a solicitor in England & Wales.
