Foley Hoag Expands EC/VC Practice in New York with Addition of Heather Miles as Partner

Heather Miles has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner in the Business Department and a member of the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Practice Group. She will be resident in the firm’s New York office.

Miles’ practice will focus on the representation of emerging growth companies. She is experienced in corporate formation and governance matters, as well as venture capital financing transactions, and exits via mergers and acquisitions or public offerings.

Miles has over a decade of experience in the structuring, formation and representation of venture capital and other private equity funds in connection with investments in various jurisdictions.

“Throughout her career, Heather has provided exceptional representation to leading venture capital firms and a wide range of early stage technology companies,” said Foley Hoag Co-Managing Partner William Kolb. “We look forward to our clients benefiting from her experience and knowledge.”

Prior to joining the firm, Miles had been practicing through her own firm, Miles & Co., P.C., since 2011. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colby College and a Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws from Cornell University.

Foley Hoag’s New York office continues to experience growth since opening last year. Before Miles’ arrival, the firm welcomed attorneys Christina Hioureas to its International Litigation & Arbitration practice; Natasha Reed to its Trademark, Copyright & Unfair Competition practice; and Prem Malali to its Energy Project Finance and Development practice.
