Dentons adds banking regulatory partner Lloyd Winans in New York office

Dentons announced today that Lloyd Winans joined its Corporate Practice as a partner, adding significant international and domestic banking and finance regulatory experience to the Firm’s already robust capabilities and increasing its ability to advise clients from Latin America and the Caribbean. He will be resident in the Firm’s New York office.

Winans advises foreign and domestic financial institutions with the regulatory aspects of their operations, product offerings and US counterparty relationships. He has career-long experience handling regulatory relations with an emphasis on, examination management and enforcement matters and is well known to supervisory and enforcement personnel at the federal and various state banking regulators.

With significant experience in Latin America, Winans routinely counsels clients on complex inbound and outbound transactions, financings and investment in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Active in bar associations, Winans is the founder and co-chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section’s Latin American Law Subcommittee. He previously served as chair of the Business Law Section’s International Business Law Committee, as vice chair of the International Law Section’s Latin American and Caribbean Committee and co-chair of its International Financial Services & Products Committee. He earned his JD, with honors, from Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law and his BA, with honors, from George Washington University.
