Blank Rome Adds Labor and Employment Attorneys in New York

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Rory J. McEvoy has joined the Firm as a Partner in the Labor and Employment group. For nearly four decades, Mr. McEvoy has represented clients in a wide variety of management-side labor and employment matters, including employment litigation in federal and state courts and before federal, state, and local anti-discrimination agencies; collective bargaining; arbitrations; and unfair labor practices before the National Labor Relations Board. In addition, Mr. McEvoy represents clients in all aspects of the employment relationship, including non-compete litigations, breach of employment contracts, wage and hour matters, and defamation. He joins the Firm from Locke Lord Edwards LLP (formerly Edwards Wildman Palmer) where he served as the Chair of the Labor and Employment Group. He is based in Blank Rome’s New York Office.

Mr. McEvoy represents many of New York’s large hospitals and health care systems. He is intimately familiar with the labor and employment challenges faced by the health care industry, including issues regarding residency programs, medical staff hearings, graduate medical education, quality assurance, and patient care and safety. Mr. McEvoy also represents clients in the financial services industry, a large philanthropic religious organization, an electronics company, companies that provide on-site management services, and others.

Mr. McEvoy brings with him two associates, Katherine Watson and Brittany Buccellato, from Locke Lord Edwards. Ms. Watson and Ms. Buccellato represent employers in all aspects of labor and employment law.

Mr. McEvoy earned his J.D. from the New York University School of Law where he was research editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Fordham University. Ms. Watson received her J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where she was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law, Technology and the Internet, and her B.A. from the University of Michigan. Ms. Buccellato received her J.D. from the New York University School of Law where she was senior executive editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics, and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
