Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm represented ARCH Capital Management, a boutique Asian real estate investment firm specializing in the management of real estate private equity funds in Asia, as U.S. legal counsel in forming a new real estate private equity fund, ARCH Capital-TRG Asian Master Partners, L.P. The fund recently had its final closing, raising a total of over $400 million from a diverse global investor base, including pension funds, endowments, private foundations, and high-net-worth individuals. Fund II is seeking to make opportunistic investments in ground-up development transactions, primarily in China. Real Estate partner John A. Cahill led the Firm’s efforts on the formation of the fund, aided on the corporate side by associates Lisa A. Chaneyand Kimberly A. Gordon. Tax partner Joseph P. Opich, Private Investment Funds partner Joshua H. Sternoff and corporate counselCraig W. Spenner, Jr. were crucial to the transaction for tax and ERISA matters in the creation of a master partnership to address certain key issues raised by admitting a bank pension trust to comply with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. |
