Simmons & Simmons Expands Life Sciences Sector Group

International law firm Simmons & Simmons is further expanding its life sciences sector group in Germany with the hire of Dr Boris Handorn, who joins the firm’s Munich office as a partner. Boris joins the firm on 01 October from Noerr, where he led their firmwide healthcare group.

Boris specialises in product liability and has long-standing experience in advising life sciences companies as well as companies active in the fields of engineering, electrical engineering and TMT.

He also advises on a broad range of complex regulatory issues related to medical devices, including CE marking, monitoring and vigilance systems as well as outsourced processes in the area of medical devices including OEM PLM relationships.

Boris’ appointment demonstrates the continued expansion of the firm’s leading life sciences sector group following the appointment of life sciences partner Dr Ina vom Feld in 2014, and the ongoing investment of the firm’s offering in Germany since the opening of its office in Munich in 2013 with partner Dr Thomas Adam.

Dr Hans-Hermann Aldenhoff, Country Head of Simmons & Simmons in Germany, commented: “the addition of Boris continues the steady expansion of our Life Sciences sector group in Germany. With his focus on product liability, he is an excellent addition to our Life Sciences team as one of our five sector groups which we focus, and ranks among the leading teams in Europe.”
