Robinson+Cole Opens Office in Miami

Robinson+Cole, an Am Law 200 firm with 200 lawyers in nine offices serving clients from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, has opened an office in Miami. The new office is located at 801 Brickell Avenue. The firm also has offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and California.

Eugene P. Murphy, a partner with the firm in the Insurance + Reinsurance Group, is overseeing the Miami location, where he is joined by associate Laura Farach, most recently with the firm of Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Ferri LLP, and paralegal Melanie Hoffman.

“Opening an office in Miami allows us to better serve our clients in Florida,” said John B. Lynch Jr., managing partner. “We look forward to growing and strengthening our connections in Florida as Gene settles into the Miami community and builds our staff there.”

“In addition to large property and liability coverage and extracontractual matters, much of our insurance work deals with coverage matters and litigation stemming from natural disasters occurring in Florida and other parts of the Southeast,” said Rhonda J. Tobin, co-chair of Robinson+Cole’s Litigation Section and a member of the firm’s Managing Committee. “Our clients will benefit from having Gene and his team in Miami, as many of our cases are litigated in Miami-Dade County and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.”

Eugene P. Murphy concentrates his practice in property and liability coverage and bad faith matters. Mr. Murphy has been with the firm since 2006 and has focused on the evaluation, litigation, and resolution of a diverse range of coverage disputes, including mediations, arbitrations, and trials. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, Connecticut, and New York.
