Neal McAliley Joins Carlton Fields in Miami

Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Neal McAliley joined the firm as a shareholder in its Miami office. McAliley is a member of the firm’s National Trial Practice Business Litigation subgroup.

With more than 25 years of experience, McAliley is considered to be a leading authority on environmental law and litigation by his clients and peers. McAliley began his career at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) where he prosecuted environmental crimes and represented federal agencies in environmental litigation, including many cases relating to restoration of the Florida Everglades. He joins Carlton Fields from White & Case.

His extensive experience and understanding of government agencies enables him to solve difficult problems and deliver the best possible outcome for his clients. The core of his practice focuses on administrative, civil, and criminal enforcement of federal environmental laws. McAliley also has significant experience in cases involving federal agencies and claims under NEPA, the Endangered Species Act, the Lacey Act, and other federal environmental statutes.

In the business realm, McAliley helps his clients with a range of general civil and criminal litigation, general commercial litigation, and white collar criminal defense matters, from conducting internal investigations for multinational companies to commercial litigation and class action defense.

McAliley received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law. He was Editor in Chief of Ecology Law Quarterly. He received his A.B., cum laude in General Studies, from Harvard University.
McAliley is ranked by Chambers USA as a leading individual attorney (Band 1), and was named by Best Lawyers as 2017 Litigation-Environmental “Lawyer of the Year” in Miami.
