Simmons & Simmons Expands International Intellectual Property Group

International law firm Simmons & Simmons expands its international intellectual property group with the appointment of Mark Heaney who will join the firm as a partner.*

Mark joins the firm’s London office on 14 October from Baker Botts, where he was a partner. He has experience in contentious matters covering a broad range of intellectual property work with a particular focus on patents, confidential information, and copyright and related rights.

Specialising in computers, electronics and telecommunications, he is widely considered amongst clients and peers as a “seasoned patent litigator with a remarkable level of IT and electronics industry knowledge” (IAM Patent 1000, 2014), and a “forceful litigator” who “thoroughly understands IP law, has excellent technical skills and a wonderfully approachable and engaging style.” Legal 500 UK 2015 ‘Leading Individual’ and Chambers & Partners UK 2015.
