International Corporate Transactions Lawyer Joins Pillsbury in London

Pillsbury today announced that Sandra Bates, an experienced cross-border corporate finance lawyer, has joined the firm’s London office as a partner in the Corporate & Securities practice. She arrives from Stikeman Elliott (London) LLP.

During her 20-year career, Sandra has built a distinguished practice handling public and private mergers and acquisitions, securities transactions, joint ventures and general corporate law, notably for clients in the mining, energy, technology and financial services industries. She has extensive experience with both English and North American business laws and regulations and acts for both UK and international companies, funds, sponsors, nominated advisers and brokers.

“Sandra brings a strong track record of diverse international deal work and a proven ability as a trusted corporate advisor,” said Bob Robbins, head of the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice. “She is an important addition to our team in London, which is a major hub of our deal practice, handling trans-Atlantic and trans-Europe matters as well as corporate deals globally.”

Recent representations for Sandra include flotations and secondary capital raisings on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market and AIM, code-regulated takeovers, Canadian plans of arrangement, private M&A transactions, asset acquisitions and disposals, joint venture arrangements, private equity investments and funding structures, among other matters.

Sandra earned her LLB, with honors, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Adelaide. Before entering private practice, she was an associate to Justice Bruce Lander of the Supreme Court of South Australia.
