Dentons Strengthens London TMT Team With Key Partner Hire

Tracey Sheehan has joined Dentons as a partner in its Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) team. Previously Head of Telecommunications at Taylor Wessing, Tracey’s appointment boosts the number of lawyers in the TMT team in London to well over 40.

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons UKMEA Chief Executive Officer, commented, “As telecoms companies face the two huge issues of consolidation and competition, Tracey’s appointment is of strategic importance. Her experience of complex projects, which extends beyond the UK to continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia, will be invaluable to our clients.”

With 20 years of experience, Sheehan has acted for national and international clients both in the public and private sectors. Her experience extends to the roll outs of both mobile and fixed line networks, infrastructure sharing, spectrum allocation, and European Telecommunications regulation, including competition and state aid. She also has a particular interest in the convergence of communication infrastructure and the implementation and use of smart technology.

Dentons TMT department head, Catherine Bingham said, “We are very excited by Tracey’s appointment and are looking forward to working closely with her, particularly on strategic smart technology infrastructure projects. She will be joining our award-winning telecoms group with senior associate Rebecca Clarke, also from Taylor Wessing.”

Sheehan said, “The convergence of telecommunications infrastructure into complementary industry sectors such as construction, energy and utilities will underpin the successful delivery of the modern economy. Dentons has a great international pedigree in helping clients both in the telecoms space and these complementary industry sectors, and I look forward to playing a part in its growth and working with new colleagues across the Firm.”

Sheehan has strong relationships with the Washington DC based Utilities Telecom Council (UTC) and its global sister associations within Africa, Latin America and Canada, and the European Utilities Telecom Council (EUTC) within Europe where she is a regular contributor, speaker and panel member at events and conferences.
