Weil Advises First Quantum on C$5.1B Offer for Shares of Inmet

A Weil team led by Dallas Public Company Advisory Group (PCAG) partner P.J. Himelfarb and Washington, DC PCAG associate Adé Heyliger advised First Quantum Minerals Ltd. on the US aspects of its C$5.1 billion offer for all outstanding shares of Inmet Mining Corp. (Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP acted as lead Canadian counsel on this transaction.) First Quantum is a mining company with a global portfolio of copper and nickel assets in Africa, Australia, South America, and Europe, and Inmet is a global mining company based in Canada. The combined company would have a portfolio of seven producing mines and four development projects in eight countries around the world.

Former Blackstone Counsel Joshua B. Rovine Rejoins Sidley Austin LLP’s Pooled Investment Entities Group in New York from The Blackstone Group

Sidley Austin LLP announced today that Joshua B. Rovine, former General Counsel of Advisory Services at The Blackstone Group and Chief Compliance Officer of Blackstone Capital Partners, has rejoined the firm’s Pooled Investment Entities (PIE) Group as a partner in New York. He will also be a member of the firm-wide Investment Funds, Advisers and Derivatives (IFAD) Practice, concentrating primarily on hedge fund and fund of funds formation (including buy-side representations), as well as investment adviser regulation and compliance. Mr. Rovine was previously a partner at Sidley from 1998 – 2002.
