1-3 Year US Qualified General Corporate Associate (Mandarin) - Shanghai

US practice group of an international law firm is seeking junior associates for their M&A/corporate department in Shanghai.  This law firm was one of the first international law firms to establish an office in China outside Beijing.  This is a unique opportunity for a US associate to join a large and thriving Shanghai office (i.e. not a satellite office) which, due to its size, is able to offer its associates support (in terms of paralegals and trainees) as well as mentorship and training.  Key members of this practice group also emphasize that this firm will offer new junior associates the training to be able to adjust and succeed in a China-focused practice as well as a commitment to maintaining a work-life balance.  According to one senior attorney, "associates come here, enjoy working here, and stay here."Ideal candidates will have China experience but China experience is not necessary.  A strong background in M&A and private equity is essential as well as a JD from a top 15 law school.  Laid off candidates will not be considered competitive.  Mandarin language skills essential and applicants will be tested on their reading, speaking and writing skills as part of the application process.  Please contact hongkong@kinneyrecruiting.com for more information
